Hi folks!
As I am still BF-ING and get hungry pretty fast..this is what DH got me as I have told him the last confinement I survived hunger pangs by snacking on chocolate while waiting for the next mealtime :) glad he remembered ;)

My BF story
Hi folks!
Agreeing that Breastmilk is the best and supporting Breastfeeding do not seem to be the same.
During my first baby, my mom gave me pills to stop BF during my 2nd week, not because she doesn't know that Breastmilk is good for baby but she wants her daughter(me) to have enough rest and not too much hassle when starting work.
My mil at that time felt BF is troublesome as can't really know if baby is full or not(I guess the baby's mom who are experienced enough or trust her instinct enough would know if baby is full), BF bb tend to poo a lot, she can't take over BF bb as BF bb needs to always be with the BF mom...etc Until one day when we were stucked in a very bad traffic jam, and both my baby and my sil's bb crying for milk in the car. Sil's fm was at the car boot and it was raining heavily and nowhere to stop the car to retrieve the milk whereas I could just feed my bb immediately in the car. That was the very first time I heard positive statement from my mil on BF'ing. So much easier when travelling with BF child :)
My CL and my mil do no support fully BF(initially), but they like to show off my EBM stock in the freezer to the guests much to my dismay as the guest will start asking for my few stock for their own kids as though I had a lot to spare..sigh..and my mil even asked if they like their coffee to mix with EBM!
Now I don't find it funny! If they only know now hard the bb and the mom build up that supply and how crucial those stock are for a working mom! Well if I have more than enough I do not mind donating some to them, but not when I am in still in confinement....
Anyway, this is how I see it, though they know Breastmilk is good(I suppose if not why they so keen to show off my stock to others??!!), but they may not support breastfeeding in their words and action.
Now, should you see another bf mom, if you have not much knowledge in BF, not much interest in BF, no experience and nothing sincere to ask, remember,"Just smile". Respect the other mom's and the baby's right to have what they think is the best for them. If you are keen to know more, ask but be non-judgemental.
Applies for guys as well, for now my DH and brother's Friends been surprised they knew more on pregnanthood and BF than these pregnant friends ;)
Cheers!

SE on big brother role
Hi folks!
My CL's daughter worked at the hospital. Thus, she is slightly more into science, facts than traditional(just slightly) but i am still advises to Wah my hair on the third week.
As SE was down with flu since we discharged from hospital, he was being asked to stay away from the bb. Thus this big brother felt bit left out, bit imbalance and bit offended.
We can see little action from him that show his frustration. He was seen swinging his leg above the baby(so closed!)...and he keep barging in the bb room, wanting for attention. I asked DH's help to spend some time with him when he can so that he's not being left out. DH brought him to playground today.
I gave him some task of taking Vit c, probiotic and propolis honey so that he could recover faster and bond with the bb. Today he's much better. He washed his hands and then asked to help to burp the baby. He also helped to bring over the diaper and said to me when he's older he can help to change baby's diaper and carry him! He is just so proud and happy to be big brother!
I know he will be a doting brother..
We ought to be tactful not to let the older siblings feel left out..despite it is very difficult when SE is at a stage where "rebel" is in him..asked him not to jump on the bed where bb is sleeping, the more he wanna jump(heart boiling at times)...losing my patience sometimes ..then asked myself once more..where is my love and patience to this once little baby boy of mine..ah....this is the time when love is much needed to tolerate, accommodate and to be extra loving to the older siblings...besides the sweet baby of course!
Cheers!

Online shopping for fullmoon package
Hi folks!
Old folks said we can't watch tv during confinement otherwise will hurt our eyesight..
But but..:P I am spending >30mins online..shopping for fullmoon package!
It has been a custom for my hubby's family or most Chinese families to either hold a full moon party(which we did for the first two kids), or distribute fullmoon package to relatives and friends who have showered us with gifts..
This time round, we chose to returned with fullmoon gift boxes rather than holding a party as it is much easier to manage..
So shopping I went...there are lotsa choices around from the traditional basi kunyit, ginger slices, rendang, ang ku Kuih(a traditional Chinese pastry for special occasion) and red eggs to cakes, tarts and cupcakes.
As we need time to distribute to people who are all over the town, DH & I finally chose something that do not need to store in fridge and could last the journey during distribution..
Another item checked from my list to do..next shopping(yet again!) for EBM bottles, bags, icepack and freezer?? Ready for working and pumping time the third time round..wish me
All the best and I could bf him as long as I could!
Cheers!
